Toyota Turbo

Can someone tell me what, if any mods, can be done on the ’87 Toyota
Supra Turbo system..to increase its output to 9-10 lbs.

It dumps at 7.4 currently, and I am nearly done with the new engine that
it will sit with.

The wastegate valve does not appear to be adjustable.

On the same topic..how can the blow-off be adjusted to not be so quick
to blow off pressure when the throttle body closes.  I have a ’91 MR-2
that holds pressure really quite well between shifts, but the Supra
drops FAST to 0 or below.

Big Valves or High Compression – which?

I am rebuilding my Fiat X 1/9 engine that I use for Autocrossing.  I have a
big valve head for this car – which  is supposed to be a good thing to have
’cause it is breathing restricted. (I have two DCNF’s).
However, the valves require a bigger combustion chamber (by 5cc) so I lose
compression ratio with it.  (9.34 to 8.1)
Any opinions out there about which is the best choice – big valves/lower CR or
normal valves/normal CR?
TIA.
Alan.

944 reliability, price and experience?

Thinking of getting a mid-80′s 944, but have heard
good and bad comments about this car. What’s the
pros and cons? How much should I paid here on the
west coast?

Thanks

Porsche 944 aftermarket turbos

Anyone have experience(unbiased- please) with alterations to turbos on 944
turbos?  Ex: modified k-26 vs. k-27 , etc. Mine is an 87. I really want to
avoid increasing lag, and am willing to sacrifice some top end potential
for good torque and drivability.  Thanks! DrKen1960

Looking for a Honda Pilot

Sorry, I looked through all the newsgroups and nothing that was
active pertained to this, so I’ll try here – I’m looking for a four
wheel off road buggy called a Honda Pilot.  It’s similar to a Honda
Odyssey but beefed up alot more and hard to find.  I prefer a used
one that will need some work instead of a high priced mint one.
I’m in the New York region of the United States where I would guess
it would be easy to find one… if anyone knows of one for sale
anywhere it would be a great help, thanks…

Carburation or Poor Cam selection

Built a chevy 355 CID street machine. A very heavy car ~4000 lbs. Turbo
350 with around 373 gears.  The engine has a Weiand single plane intake,
Holley 600 cfm carb, and 1.94/1.5 heads. Cam has 450 lift intake and
exhaust and an advertise duration of around 260 degrees .   Problem: poor
low end, plugs burn very rich.

I don’t know whether I have a carb problem or the cam/intake/carb
selection is off. I don’t believe it is the carb because it is brand new.
Intake should be a dual plane but it wouldn’t make that big of
difference.I believe the cam maybe way off and I should go to  a smaller
duration cam.  Any ideas?
