I thought I read somewhere that they produce 600 hp through
a carborator.
Hey I just ran into what looks to be a decent little 2nd car to put in
the shed. It is a Fiero with the 6 cylinder and an auto tranny. I have 13
nieces and nephews (total) as well as a handicapped person living at home.
So the auto is a necessity.
Question is; how does the little 6 hold up in this car? What troubles
with the enging should I look for etc…
Also about the auto tranny… never seen one in a fiero though I knew
they made them… how do they hold up though?
This care is fairly high mileage, but the price is low/low. The odometer
has just over 100,000 miles on it. A lot I know, but again, the price is
low enough where it wouldn’t be to big a gamble if I knew something about
this engine and this tranny.
Any experts out there on this vehicle? Any comments welcomed. Thanks for

Hi All!
I replaced my plugs with new ones (not to mention any brands). Idle is
smooth and the engine is running a little stronger. But: If it take
the revs (and try to maintain it) above 1500 RPM in neutral, I hear
small detonations (misfires???) happening at around half a second
intervals and engine turns a bit roughly. While driving that doesn’t
seems to happen. Any ideas on what could be my problem?
OK engine idles fine and accelerate fine, but sometimes driving is
more than on and off on the accelerator. While driving at let’s say
30mph and I give just enough gas so the engine is not compressing or
accelerating (no engine load?) I hear the same small random
detonations. I’m about sure that wasn’t the case with my old plugs.
Could it be something related to weak ignition? I’ll put my old plugs
back to check and I’ll let you know.

I’ve got a friend that has put together a Van Diemen 1600 car.
I don’t know anything about race cars, but said I’d check the
internet to see if I can find factory specs on the suspension
for these cars (ie. castor settings, etc.). Anyone know where
I could find info like that without having to write away to
Norfolk? The dealer in California didn’t have these specs!
I have two questions about my new Z-28.
1. I currently have 400 miles on the car. At what mileage can I begin
to used synthetic oils??
2. Is it OK to block the car under the front, reinforced part of the
unibody? Actually, I already did this and then began to wonder if it
was a problem.
