Audi Quattro Coupe

Having recently purchased a very low mileage ’90 Quattro Coupe, I was
curious as to what weak spots, trouble areas, or things to watch for
might exist. Car seems to be without trouble now.

transmission/gearbox needed

Does anyone know of a transmission/gearbox  that only has forward,
neutral and reverse? I would like to use it with a large snowmobile
engine on a ‘dune buggy’.

Ford Explorer VSS Signal Info Needed

The schematic diagram on page 31-2 of the Ford 1997 Explorer/Mountaineer
Service Manual dealing with "Speed Control," describes the VSS (Vehicle
Speed Sensor, identified as C178) as generating an "AC signal that is
proportionate to vehicle speed." It apparently outputs that signal to a
Grey/Black wire identified as 679. Does anyone on this list know the
specifications of that signal?

I am attempting to tap that signal for the mileage input of a
Time/Speed/Distance computer used for road rallying. To do so I need the
specifications of the signal generated by the VSS.

The identity of an automotive electronic whiz in south Texas, the closer
to San Antonio the better, would also be very helpful.

All assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bernie Stolzman

Help:need Hp out of restrictor plate motor

We have a Chevy 350 that last year was too much power now this year
they have us on restrictor plates it just killed the horses. We have
been trying to get it back, first step was to change rockers to 1.6
and 1.5 no real gain, next we tried different spacer plates and
changed to a Torker II intake with little inprovement. My plan is to
next change the cam shaft from the solid lifter one we now have to a
roller cam to get more lift and duration that we can not get out of a
solid lifter cam. Any info on how to gain our HP back would a big
help. The motor is run at about 6500-7000rpm the timing is at full
advance 36′ with a MSD ignition, Holly 750dp on a Torker II intake
with that dam restrictor plate, we run on a 3/8 mile circle track. Any
ideas at this point cam specs. anything would be good.
Thank you in advace for any help always love to talk racing,

RAM-AIR question

Could someone explain me the technology behind the much-advertised
"ram-air" system. Of course where talking about forcing air flowing
over the hood into the intake, but what about water? What’s the trick
to avoid water flooding the air filter (and to keep bugs out!)???

Thanks!
